呼び方が違うだけで、同じ種類の味噌です。</p>
<p>名前の由来は、『関東の人間にとっての「西の京の味噌」として、京都方面で作られた味噌を指した』という説がありますが、その実、白味噌＝西京味噌の認識でも問題はありません。</p>
